Residential Camp – Frequently Asked Questions

Who is responsible for the guests?

On the field Everton America’s highly qualified team of coaches are responsible for the players. When the players are off the field we employ a number of dorm counsellors who are responsible for the players safety and well-being. The overall camp is overseen by Director of Summer Programs, Leanne Campbell and Everton America Managing Director, Jim McElderry. We also employ a trainer who is on call 24/7 for any first aid issues.

What is a typical day schedule?

A typical daily schedule is split into 3 sessions. All players will train in the morning from 9am-11:30am in their designated groups. After lunch they do a different activity a day. These activities include Futsal, Swimming, Soccer Tennis and much more. After dinner the player return to the fields to play in game related scrimmages and small sided games

How are players split into groups?

Players are split by age and then by ability. Many of our players attend with players from their spring teams, so we strive to ensure they will be playing with players they know, but also with players of similar ability who will push them throughout the week of training

What are the sleeping arrangements?

The majority of rooms are either 2 or 1 bed, with a few 3 bed dorms. Before camp we will accept roommate requests. Whilst we try to accommodate all requests, priority will be given to our younger guests, who often find it the hardest being away from home.

When is check-in and check-out?

Check in will begin at 1pm on Sunday, July 8th, with a full camp briefing in the quad at 2pm. Check-out will be from 11am on Thursday, July 12th. Late check-in and early check-out can be arranged.

What are the arrangements for meals?

Players receive 3 balanced meals a day, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The meals are served in the school cafeteria and are buffet style. There is plenty of options to fulfill all appetites as well as vegetarian and gluten-free meals available

Does my child need money?

Players will be able to keep their own money or deposit money in the camp bank (where we will keep it safe on their behalf). They can spend money at the vending machine and in the evening they have the option to order a pizza. They do not need much money, and a maximum of $30 is recommended.

My son/daughter takes medication, what happens with that?

The club operates a self-administer camp which allows the campers to keep medication such as inhalers with them in their room should they need it. More serious medication is kept with the trainer and they will meet with players each day when they need their medication. The trainer is on call 24/7 and administers all first aid at the camp.

What happens if it rains?

The school has plenty of indoor space to accommodate us should we experience inclement weather. The schedule may change slightly but the players will still get their designated amount of soccer time.
